Electrical Maintenance Technician

Accountabilities The incumbent will be responsible for inspection, maintenance, testing, , troubleshooting, repair, and installation of plant electrical equipment and other related accessories/components.
- Conduct inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and testing of generators, exciters, motors, transformers, switchgears, power control centers, panel boards, station batteries, elevators and other plant equipment and components to maintain a reliable and safe plant operation.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and recover electrical faults and abnormalities in electrical system and equipment and conduct test on repaired equipment for their reliable and safe operation
- Prepare for the job and survey working conditions
- Follow Permit to Work (PTW) procedure, ensures that correct Risk Assessments are carried out for all works under his responsibility.
- Supervise contractors and suppliers as instructed
- Record and input data on CMMS system
- Giving feedback, information, recommendations, and observations to management Make and update SOP
- Coordinate and assist, on an as needed basis, other teams at AES/ Mong Duong
- Undertake installation of additional electrical projects and initiate improvements of the existing ones based on standards electrical code, and /or manufacturer’s recommendation.
- Be responsible for the area in charge to make sure equipment in safe, good and reliable conditions
- May perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time. Is expected to work irregular hours and duties when needed or instructed.
- Actively participate in the Plant Wide meetings, Safety Meetings and trainings
- Strictly complies with corporate governance and principles, such as but not limited to Housekeeping, Safety, Environmental, and Code of Conduct and Discipline and adhere to AES core values.
- Employee’s expectations and results will be measured on his ability to achieve goals, initiatives, and expectations as set forth and agreed upon between the employee and their Team Leader.
- Ensures adherence to company rules and regulations and actively participate in company sponsored programs.
Job Specifications / Competencies Qualification
- Hold college degree or higher in Electrical engineering or industrial automation
Experience
- Require at least 3 years working experience in power plant or heavy industry as an Electrician or electrical engineer
Technical skills
- Knowledge, skills and experience in electrical safety and EHHS policies and procedures
- Knowledge in using electrical test and measuring equipment and devices
- Knowledge and skills in equipment monitoring devices (Partial Discharge (PD), Dissolved Gas Analyzer (DGA), Vibration, thermography, Drone…)
- Is able to read and interpret electrical diagrams, termination drawings, manuals and spec. sheets.
- Knowledge and skills in maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and testing of electrical system and equipment
- Knowledge and skills on handling heavy equipment

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft office software is preferred or the willingness to learn.
- Must be able to work independently with no or limited supervision.
- Basic English reading and writing skills are required
- A basic understanding of a CMMS system is required, SAP ERP program is preferred.
